The Blue Mojave
Welcome to the Blue Mojave where windswept roads line the horizon and hearts howl in unison on the deafening plains.
About The Blue Mojave
The Blue Mojave was a live radio noir show set in post-war Los Angeles. A serial in the tradition of the old pulp magazines, the episodic content follows private detective Cal Archer who is hired to protect the daughter of one of California’s wealthiest families. A prized stallion is shot, an aspiring singer murdered, and Archer follows a trail that leads to the highest chambers of power in the state.
The production, created by Evan Calbi, opened at the Unknown Theater in 2007 featuring Kyle Ingleman starring as the gumshoe Cal Archer and a cast of actors, comedians, foley artists, and musicians. The voice actors performed with live music from the house band The Savage Wood Ramblers, live foley, and zany faux commercials that played upon the era’s outrageously bizarre conventions of salesmanship.
