Notes from Barcelona
The beginning of June 2025 marked one year since I put everything in storage and moved to Spain, and I’ve begun writing about my experience in a new Substack page, Notes from Barcelona.
I plan to write about life in Spain; about regional foods and the many types of bread here; about how the legacy of fascism shadows everything; about the nerd spiral of literary craft I am studying while working on a novel set in a beach town in Southern California; about the differences between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and between oceans and seas; about the ways that people who rely on the Mediterranean for work or play can read wind patterns like they are deducing particle physics.
